The aim of this project is to study the interaction between phonology and morphology using constraint-based models such as Stratal Optimality Theory, Transderivational Correspondence Theory in parallel Optimality Theory, and Distributed Morphology.
Empirically, we examine phenomena found in Romance languages and beyond.
We study

phonological cyclic effects and their interaction with derivation and inflection processes

the relationship between morphosyntactic structure and phonological realization in derivational and inflectional contexts

the relationship between prosodic (and metrical) structure and segmental phonology
